Brain Dead

I am feeling a little brain dead this week. We have 9 days until we leave for China. We have so much to do that I don't know if we will get it all finished or not. The final paper for the class from hell (also known as biochemistry) is due on Friday. It has to be five pages long and I am currently at 2 and 1/4 pages but still need to cover protein folding and the blood clotting cascade, both things I need to review before I can write about them (please send me smart vibes if you have them because I need all of the help I can get right now). I think that everything I have written so far is probably garbage, but I am getting dangerously close to the point where I just don't care anymore and just want to get it close to the right length. it gives me headache just thinking about it. I have not been doing any school (as in my job) work at home because of the paper so now I feel like I am falling behind in that as well. Grades close for progress reports this week so I will get to spend my weekend catching up on all of that. I need to finish packing, get the guest bedroom ready, and we haven't even started to child proof yet (we do have most of the supplies so we aren't totally horrible parents). I am starting to get fairly stressed out and should really be doing something besides blogging right now.

We have our travel meeting tomorrow. David is out of town so I will be going by myself. I am looking forward to seeing everyone and finding out what our itinerary will be, especially when we will finally get our hands on the kid. Between the recent news of disease and now the earthquake, I am even more anxious to get over there and get her.

I have been so busy that I haven't been able to blog about the wonderful baby shower I was given at work last week. It was very fun and I think that Annika now has enough clothes to get her through the summer and enough beautiful sundresses to set her up for the next couple of summers. Hopefully I can post some pictures before we leave. We also received a nice box of goodies today from my cub scout den.

My parents fly in on Saturday afternoon. Between baseball and cub scouts they will be kept pretty busy while they are here. Thank goodness we have a GPS. We have already programmed a few common destinations for them and will be adding some more. I am going to make them picture directions so that they will be able to figure out how to get the directions that they need.

Well, guess I should go get back into that book and attempt to write something that sounds intelligent.
