We're Baaack

First of all Happy New Year to everyone.

We made it back from Kansas in one piece (although we did lose the worlds-biggest-suitcase full of all of our gifts on the way home. They dropped it off at our house sometime in the middle of the night last night.) It took us and hour to make the usual 20 minute trip home because it started to snow on the way home, which caused an accident, which meant that we had to take the steep, curvy, scary in the snow way home. The taxi driver was not to thrilled with the weather or our choice of travel routes.

Okay, enough complaining. We had a great time in Kansas. We got plenty of baby love from our 6 month old niece and 18 month old nephew. Alex had a great time playing with his cousins (5 year old twins). He thought that he had hit the jackpot when he opened the gameboy from grandma and poppa and the games that we had bought for him. His favorite by far is Lego Star Wars (which is pretty fun). I never realized how quickly someone can turn into a video game junky. Annika also scored big. She got a couple of really cute sweaters and a pleated mini skirt, a bracelet that is red and black with a ladybug charm (I got one that matched), and TWO Asian Cabbage Patch babies. I received a gift certificate for an awesome quilt shop near my parent's town and we went and bought all of the fabric that I need to make the quilt for her nursery. I will take a picture of it and post it once we unpack the digital camera.

Hope that everyone had a great holiday.
