We got our fingerprint appointment letter in the mail yesterday. The USCIS (previously INS) sends an appointment letter after they receive your application to adopt a foreign orphan. They give you a two week window to go to the office and get fingerprinted. I am going on Wednesday morning. I have to take a half day because the office doesn't open until 8. David is going on a different day because he has a meeting that morning. We're another step closer.
I am starting to worry that the bird flu may delay our adoption. It is a scary disease in general, but I am worried it will become like when they had SARS in Asia a few years ago. If that is the case then our wait could be longer.
