Birthday and Moon Cakes

(I will add pictures later. I am having some internet issues)

It seems like a really long time since my last post. We have been so busy around here the last couple of weeks I haven't really had the time. Last week was Alex's birthday and we went to see Blue Man Group. It was great. We all loved it.

On Friday night we went out to dinner for the Autumn Harvest Festival. It went much better than last year. I asked the waiter if they were selling mooncakes at the restaurant. He looked a little shocked that I would even know about them in the first place. He said that they were only eaten on a very special holiday in China. I said I knew that and wasn't this that day. He looked really surprised and said that you usually need to go into Boston to Chinatown to get them. About 10 minutes later he came back with a mooncake cut into 6 pieces. He said that they had some for the employees, but since I had asked they would like for us to have one.

Saturday we went apple and pumpkin picking with some friends from the neighborhood. It is one of the great things about living in New England. It was sunny and in the mid-sixties, the leaves are all changing. It was beautiful. We even ran into a nice woman with two beautiful Chinese daughters.

We are getting ready for our home study update. Lucky us, we live in a state where the social worker actually has to come to your house for a visit when your home study expires. She is coming on Thursday. It is much less nerve racking the second time around. My only problem right now is I was supposed to send her the paper work for our background checks, etc., and I keep forgetting to mail them. Guess I'll just hold on to them until she comes by.
