Nursery

Can you tell we're not the pastel type?

I've been working on this quilt for Annika's. I have finished the blocks and just need to sew them together. I layed them out tonight so that I can arrange them before I sew them together. Once they are sewn I need to take them to the fabric store and pick out a border. The quilt is too big for a crib, but it is what I call a "Big Kid" quilt. It is something that she will be able to use for a long time. Alex has one with firemen and police men that he sleeps with everynight.

The room that is will be Annika's is currently the craft room/ guest bedroom. We got a room finished in the basement so that we can move all of that stuff down stairs. I hope to move into the basement during the last week of February when we have winter break and then start on the nursery during spring break. I am soooooo ready to get started in there.

I have picked out pink and green paints for the walls and now need to decide what I am going to do with them. I want it to be something that she will enjoy for several years. I have been thinking about daisies and bugs for awhile now. We bought this kite(it has a bunch of good luck symbols on it) to hang on the wall. The color in the picture is off, it actually matches alot of the fabric that I have bought.

I am also going to make the skirt for the crib and the valances for the windows. I bought that fabric last summer (planned ahead on that one, huh?) and it is washed, pressed, and ready to roll.
